Argentina Strikes Gold in Final Round of South American Beach Volleyball Circuit Ahead of the Grand Finale

  • The silver medal in the women’s tournament went to Chris Vorphal and Fabiane Boogaerdt of Chile, while Hans Hannibal and Nicolas Llambias of Uruguay secured second place in the men's category

On Sunday, Ponta Negra beach in Manaus, situated in the heart of the Amazon, became the epicentre of South American beach volleyball. Over three days, 24 pairs from Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Guyana, and Bolivia battled it out in 40 matches in the penultimate stage of the South American Beach Volleyball Circuit #CSVP.


Teams from Argentina dominated and eventually claimed a double gold, courtesy of Ana Gallay and Brenda Churín and Juan Bautista Amieva and Marcel Bueno.


In the women’s final, the duo from Argentina, Gallay and Churín, clinched victory over FIVB Volleyball Empowerment supported Chile's Volphal and Boogaerdt in a 2-0 (21-13, 21-07) showdown. In the men's category, Amieva and Bueno's triumph over Hannibal and Llambias of Uruguay, also supported by Volleyball Empowerment, came after a thrilling three sets (11-21, 21-13, 15-11).


Federación de Vóleibol de Chile has so far received CHF 261,500 in beach volleyball support, along with Federación Uruguaya De Voley, who have been granted CHF 286,000.
