FIVB’s achievements in good governance and accountability applauded by Finance Commission

  • The FIVB Finance Commission praised the achievements of the FIVB in the areas of good governance and accountability


  • The meeting was held in a hybrid format with a number of important topics discussed


  • The Finance Commission agreed on the proposals for the consideration of the FIVB Board of Administration



The FIVB Finance Commission praised the FIVB’s achievements in good governance and accountability during its meeting earlier this week.


The Commission met in a hybrid format with the Commission President Essa Hamza Al Failakawi and Secretary Habu Gumel joining from the FIVB Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, while the other members attended via videoconference.


During the meeting, a number of important topics were discussed, including the 2023 Financial Reports and Budget 2025-2026. The FIVB & Volleyball World Business Plan 2032 was also presented.



In his opening speech, FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:


“Over the past year, the FIVB Finance Commission has continued to be at the heart of maintaining the FIVB’s financial stability, while ensuring our financial affairs are conducted in a professional and transparent manner. The principles of good governance, accountability and integrity have been the foundation of my mandate as FIVB President over the past 12 years.”


The Finance Commission concluded its meeting by agreeing the following proposals for the consideration of the FIVB Board of Administration:


1. To approve the Business Report 2023


2. To approve the FIVB Controller’s report 2023


3. To approve Deloitte’s External Auditors’ report 2023


4. To approve the Internal Auditors’ report 2023


5. To approve the budgets 2025-2026


6. To recommend to the Congress, to be held in November 2024, the discharge of the Board of Administration & Management for the period 2022-2023
