As the Beach Pro Tour 2024 Futures season is about to start this month with the event in Mollymook, Australia, the previously announced calendar has been expanded with the addition of nine confirmed Beach Pro Tour Futures events scheduled for the second half of the year. Players and fans alike can look forward to returning to both established beach volleyball hotspots and new, exciting destinations.

After an event scheduled for late June in Baden, Austria, where international beach volleyball competitions have taken place for almost two decades, the Beach Pro Tour will stop in Estonia for the first time in history, with the city of Rakvere set to welcome a double-gender event from 3 to 6 July. The tour’s debut in Estonia reflects the steady growth in the popularity of the sport across the Baltic country, owing very much to the sensational results achieved on the international stage by Kusti Nõlvak and Mart Tiisaar.

A women’s and men’s event will be taking place in the city centre of Leuven, Belgium, for the fourth straight year, this time running from 18 to 21 July, only a week or so before the start of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. This will mark the third consecutive appearance of this event on the Beach Pro Tour, following the city’s debut in 2021 as part of the World Tour calendar.

The city of Myslenice, in southern Poland, is among the newest additions to the Beach Pro Tour. The double-gender Futures event at a lakeside venue will run there between August 15-19 – with Myslenice joining the likes of nearby Krakow, which is due to host single gender tournaments on consecutive weeks earlier in the year.

Another very popular destination is Czechia’s second largest city, Brno, where a double-gender Futures will be taking place from 22 to 25 August. The Czech teams are formidable competitors, particularly with the reigning men’s world champions, David Schweiner and Ondrej Perusic, among their ranks. The event in Brno will be run at the iconic lakeside venue Sokolske koupaliste, where numerous age-group European champions have been crowned over the years.

Following last year’s highly successful premiere, the Beach Pro Tour returns to southern Italy and more specifically to Corigliano-Rossano, Calabria, a popular seaside resort where men’s and women’s players will be taking to the sand from 29 August to 1 September. Last year, the international premiere in this location ended with teams from Italy and Finland standing on top of the men’s and women’s podiums, respectively.

That very same weekend a men’s only event will be taking place in Poland’s capital, Warsaw, in the district of Wilanów, followed by a women’s only competition at the same venue on 5-8 September. This repeats the experience from last year when the local organisers had opted for a similar schedule to account for the very best possible conditions for teams and fans alike.

For the second time in history, Bujumbura, Burundi will host a double-gender Futures event from 11 to 14 September in the lakeside Petit Bassam Beach following its debut on the Beach Pro Tour 2023 calendar while bringing the prestigious tour to Africa.

The Beach Pro Tour 2024 promises a very exciting season with a total of 33 Futures events scheduled across all the continents. The extensive calendar offers plenty of opportunities for both up-and-coming and experienced teams to secure valuable ranking points and a share of the prize money at stake.
