The XXXV South American Women's Championship kicked off with a vibrant spectacle in Recife, Brazil, on Saturday. The 8,000-seat Geraldão Arena was filled to capacity, with tickets already sold out for all the matches.

On the first day, Argentina triumphed over Peru (3-0) while Brazil dominated Chile (3-0). During the second day Colombia won against Peru (3-0), while Brazil scored its second victory against Argentina (3-0).

Five teams are competing in the Championship: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru. The teams play against each other in a round robin format, and the team with the most number of victories takes the title.

The Brazil national women’s team, reigning South American champions, are defending their title, while Colombia, the silver medallist in the last three editions, aims to break Brazil's dominance.

Following their historic victory in the Pan-American Cup, the Argentina team arrived in Recife with confidence, fielding the same lineup that clinched the title in Puerto Rico.

The spectators in the stands truly stole the show. Entire families cheered, danced and sang, celebrating in the arena for nearly an hour after the conclusion of the second match.

Live streaming is available on the South American Volleyball Confederation website and Youtube channel.
