FIVB President welcomes Polish Volleyball Federation President to FIVB Headquarters

FIVB President Dr Ary S Graça F° today welcomed the newly elected President of the Polish Volleyball Federation (PZPS) Sebastian Świderski to the FIVB Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.


During the meeting, a number of important topics were discussed, including the development of the sport in Poland and the preparations for the upcoming FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022. The meeting was also attended by FIVB Board of Administration and PZPS Management Board member Mirosław Przedpełski, FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo, Volleyball World Chairperson Fernando Lima and Volleyball World CEO Finn Taylor.


Sebastian Świderski was elected as the President of the PZPS in September 2021 for a four-year term until 2025. Świderski is a well-known former volleyball player who played 322 matches for the Poland men’s national team between 1996 and 2011. He won gold at the FIVB U21 World Championship in 1997 and at the European U21 Championship in 1996. He also secured silver at the FIVB Volleyball World Championship in 2006 and represented Poland at two Olympic Games.


Following the meeting, the FIVB President said:


“It was a pleasure to welcome Sebastian Świderski to the FIVB Headquarters for the very first time. As we are both former volleyball players and now high-level volleyball leaders, we had a lot to discuss, including the preparations for the upcoming FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship 2022. I am sure that with the new PZPS President onboard, the Polish Volleyball Federation will continue to grow and promote our beloved sport around the country and beyond.”
