FIVB President marks opening of dynamic new FFvolley Headquarters

In a landmark event, FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° joined a distinguished gathering to inaugurate the new French Volleyball Federation (FFVolley) headquarters in Créteil, situated in the vibrant Île-de-France region.


The ceremony, hosted by FFvolley President Eric Tanguy, welcomed a host of notable figures including European Volleyball Confederation President Aleksandar Boričić and African Volleyball Confederation President Bouchra Hajij. The event was further distinguished by the presence of high-ranking government officials such as Fabienne Bourdais, Sports Director at the Ministry of Sports and of the Olympic and Paralympic Games; Valerie Pecresse, Regional Council of Île-de-France President; Laurent Cathala, Mayor of Créteil City; and Olivier Capitanio, President of the Val-de-Marne Department.


The FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:


“The FIVB takes great pride in its historical ties with France and French volleyball. The FIVB was born in France. Back in 1947, France, along with thirteen other nations, established the FIVB in Paris under the leadership of Paul Libaud, who was then serving as the President of the French Volleyball Federation.


“My best regards go to President Tanguy and the Board of the French Volleyball Federation! I am sure that under your strong leadership, French volleyball will continue to shine on the global stage! Now, with these beautiful new headquarters as the home of French volleyball, the future looks even brighter.”


President of the French Volleyball Federation Eric Tanguy said:


“Following three years of strong growth in the number of players in France, I am delighted that the FFvolley is inaugurating a new, larger, more modern headquarters, allowing it to accommodate all members of the Volleyball family. Our federation is now ready to grow and welcome new people to meet the challenges of tomorrow and further grow French volleyball.


“The FFvolley is very honored by the presence of the FIVB President Ary Graça, the CEV President Aleksandar Boričić and representatives of the French State, the Ile de France Region, the Department of Val de Marne and the City of Créteil at the inauguration ceremony of the “France Volleyball House”.


The impressive new FFvolley Headquarters feature state-of-the-art facilities which are set to benefit and accelerate the development of French volleyball. With the Olympic Games Paris 2024 just over two months away, this landmark moment represents an exciting time for the sport in France.
