FIVB President joins European Volleyball Family at CEV Super Finals

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° yesterday joined the European Volleyball Family at the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Champions League Super Finals in Turin, Italy where the continent’s top four clubs clashed in an intense battle for the coveted trophies.


In the all-Turkish women’s final, VakifBank overcame Eczacibasi with a 3-1 victory, while Grupa Azoty Kędzierzyn-Koźle (ZAKSA) triumphed over JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel 3-2 in the all-Polish men’s final, claiming the ultimate European men’s club volleyball glory.


During the ceremony, the FIVB President had the honour of presenting the trophies to the winning teams alongside CEV President Aleksandar Boričić. In addition, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards went to VakıfBank’s Paula Egonu from Italy in the women’s competition and ZAKSA’s David Smith from the USA on the men’s side.


Reflecting on the Super Finals, FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:


“What an incredible CEV Champions League Super Finals we have all witnessed! The level of competition was incredible, showcasing the growing strength of volleyball in Europe and worldwide. As usual, it was a great pleasure to join the European Volleyball Family on such an important occasion.
