FIVB President meets with Board of Administration ahead of World Congress

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° today chaired a Board of Administration meeting in Arnhem, the Netherlands ahead of the FIVB World Congress which is set to take place from 23-25 September.


During the meeting, FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo took delegates through the agenda of the World Congress where a number of key topics will be covered including a Volleyball Empowerment panel, the first year of Volleyball World, reports from the FIVB’s various Councils and Commissions among other items.


The FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, co-hosted by the Netherlands and Poland, will also get underway at the GelreDome, providing delegates with the opportunity to watch incredible volleyball action live on the world’s biggest stage. Delegates will also be able to experience the many volleyball activities that are being organised in Arnhem City Center to inspire local communities throughout the World Championships.


The Board also expressed its thanks to the Dutch Volleyball Federation (NEVOBO) for organising the FIVB World Congress and Volleyball Women’s World Championship.


During the meeting, the FIVB President said:


“We can all see how much volleyball has grown over the past few years, and now many more countries are truly participating in our sport. But this can and should grow even further. So, every time you see a good idea or have a positive meeting, take it back to your country and continent and show them the potential of volleyball and what can be achieved if a strong plan is put in place for the sport.”


In addition, the FIVB Board approved the consolidated financial statements 2021 of the first year of Volleyball World.
