FIVB support helps grow and improve beach volleyball across Mozambique
CEV-FIVB : Infos lun 29 août 2022The Mozambique Volleyball Federation has been benefitting from both coach and volleyball equipment projects since 2017, thanks to the FIVB’s revolutionary programme of Volleyball Empowerment.
The FIVB’s support included 12 months of coach support in 2021 and 2022, and the appointment of Brazilian coach Alexandre Pontel. Pontel’s experience at the elite level of beach volleyball has proven key in training and empowering national coaches, as well as improving tactical awareness and results on the court. The FIVB has also provided volleyball equipment support, with 100 Mikasa volleyballs in 2017 and 2021, 50 volleyballs in 2019 and various equipment in 2020.
With the FIVB’s support, Mozambique’s beach volleyball players now have the level of training and equipment to start targeting qualification for major events such as age group and senior World Championships, as well as future editions of the Olympic Games.
